• Web sites should be maintained by the owners, not the designer.
  
• Sites should work on all browsers.
  
• Design should be accompanied by the good taste your mother taught you.
  
• Upkeep and change should be welcomed and expected.
  
• Expectations of impact should be honestly presented.
  
• Salesmen with "magic beans" promising giant returns and peddling "no effort" sites should be avoided like the plague they are.
